English Foxhound
English Foxhounds were bred to hunt in large packs alongside the hunter who was on horseback. For this reason they are sociable with dogs, people and horses. They can be very independent minded and stubborn, especially when they want to go exploring. He has a very keen sense of smell and will wander off the minute you put him down and he picks up a scent, so he must be securely fenced in or on a leash at all times. They are very active and need plenty of outdoor time every day to run around and burn off their energy. They have tremendous stamina. They can run, and run, and run, (and run!) all day with only a few rests in between. They really enjoy running and were built for it! If an English Foxhound gets bored and isn't allowed to burn off his energy, he will probably become destructive.http://www.justdogbreeds.com
